During High School:
● Team captain and MVP
● 1983 Parade All American High School Football Team
● All-Conference, All City, All-South Bay and South Bay Player of the Year (1983).
● Top-25 in USA Today
● Holds the Gardena High School Rushing and TD records
During college:
● Attended UCLA
● All-American
● Ended his UCLA career as the school’s all-time leading rusher (3,700+ yards), most touchdowns (40), most 100-yard games (20) and most points by a non-kicker (248). He set a single season record for most rushing yards with 1,405 and rushing touchdowns with 17 (both since broken) and most 100-yard games (8).
● He was selected the team's offensive MVP in 1986 and '87.
Post-college:
● 1st Round pick in the NFL by the L.A. Rams (1988); played six seasons in the NFL for the Broncos, Raiders and Rams.
