Accomplishments
During High School:
● He was a part of three CIF Division I championship teams that combined to go
39–1–1
● Thurman also played baseball and basketball. He was recruited by major league baseball teams and to play college basketball.
During College:
● Two-time First Team All-American
● two-time All-Pac-10 pick
● Paced the league with 8 interceptions in 1976
● MVP in 1977
● 4 consecutive postseason wins
● National championship win in 1975 Rose Bowl
Post-college:
● Played or the Dallas Cowboys from 1978-85
● Helped the Cowboys reach the Super Bowl XIII
● Finished his career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986
● Currently serves as the defensive backs coach for the New York Jets
